to buy wine at the Bodega Indomita. The winery hasn't changed much. However, the number of boxes we bought has changed according to the size of the vehicle.
Camping Sobre Ruedas
In Paine, Santiago, Chile, we saw a well-stocked camping store. There were lots of American articles, especially 110-volt electrical appliances. Fortunately, we didn't need anything, but it's good to know where you can find American-originated products in South America.
Suzi Camping and Workshop, Santiago
For a short drive to our Sprinter service appointment in Santiago, we camped at Suzi the night before. The site, fully parked with vehicles, is too small to offer camping. We wouldn't recommend it either. However, Suzi is certainly a good place to buy, sell or rent a very reasonably priced touring vehicle in Chile.
Ruedi, the Swiss winemaker
After 18 years we visited Ruedi again in Itata Valley. Back then, he produced “Chillan wine” and ran his own restaurant. He has now leased the restaurant to a German couple. He has reduced the area planted with grapevines in favor of growing blackberries. Wine production does not earn enough due to an oversupply.
Just like 18 years ago, we stopped for an overnight stay at Ruedi's vineyards. Ruedi is still the same sympathetic fellow he used to be.
