Edy & Brigitte - on worldtrip since 2005

In 2005 we changed our lifestyle and became full-time travelers ever since.
In mobile homes we rolled through North Africa, South America, Russia, Mongolia, China,
Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Australia, Southern Africa as well as North- and Central America.
Right now we are again on the move in South America.
The future: We remain nomadic and let every day take us by surprise.

We hope that all of you have fun in virtually traveling with us.
Edy and Brigitte

Pachamama Museum

Pachamama Museum, Amaicha del Valle

This artistic museum pays homage to Pachamama (Mother Earth), a deity revered by the indigenous cultures of northern Argentina. It features fascinating statues depicting shamans and indigenous motifs and patterns on stone walls.
Incredibly beautiful. Although this wasn’t our first visit, we were once again deeply impressed.

On the way to Punta Choros, surrounded by beautiful scenery, we had the chance to observe foxes and guanacos up close.

Uber, Bolt, and similar services

Ride-hailing is the digital booking of rides in private cars via an app, often as an alternative to traditional taxis. Users (passengers) are picked up directly by a driver at their desired location and taken to their destination.
We’ve been using Uber for years.

Playa las Machas

Playa las Machas

It was weekend, and accordingly, many locals visited the popular beach.
We parked away from the large clusters of tents, at the side of a soft sandy track. After a rather restless night, we were sitting in the Sprinter having breakfast when a rusty van got stuck in the soft sand nearby.

Santa Catalina - “for God and the Kingdom of Heaven”

The Santa Catalina Convent in Arequipa, founded in 1579, is a historical and architectural masterpiece that allows visitors to delve deep into the history of the city.
The convent was founded as a boarding school for the daughters of wealthy Spanish families, who were taught by the nuns. The tradition at that time dictated that the second daughter had to enter the convent "for God and the Kingdom of Heaven." If they wanted to become choir sisters, a dowry of around 150,000 Swiss francs in today's value and listed works of art had to be handed over to the convent.

Border crossing with extensive inspection

We traveled from Argentina to Chile via the Pehuenche Pass. This time, we did not have a digitally completed entry form for food items. Therefore, we had to fill it out directly at the border.
We made the mistake of ticking “no” for all the collective questions. This proved to be our undoing, as the very thorough inspection by the official revealed an open packet of nuts. An additional official
